It covers the worlds main finacial markets, but is written mainly for the UK and the US investor. No prior knowledge of the subject is required and by the end with a little homework you should be off making your first stock selections.

Real Money by Jim Cramer CNBCs very own stock master give you the best tips and tricks of how to make some serious mad money in the stock market. This book covers more detail about fundamentals of stock and investment strategies for private growth or income investors. A very entertaining reads as you would expect from Jim Cramer, but it's mostly aimed at the US market or Cramerica as Jim likes to call it. It teaches you to do your homework before buying a stock and tell you how and what to do to make money. It is still a read for both the beginner as well as some more savvy investors and explains Jim's trading philosophy.

The original investment and entrepreneurs guide to making something out of your life, it encourages you to spot everyday opportunities and build your own wealth empire. A real treat as he tell the story of all the great inventors and Entrepreneurs and relates it back to simple principles that everyone can embed in their everyday life. Although the book isn't the latest out there this classic brings back strategies that till his day hold firm and can get you through the recession.
Rich Dad, Poor Dad (audio book)
Robert T. Kiyosaki's Rich Dad, Poor Dad is not just a heartwarming story about how Robert made his fortune through investment in real estate in the US (he was one who benefited from the housing bubble), but also how a little financial intelligence can get everyone clued up about investment strategies.
